Curfew in Patiala after group conflict, 4 damage

PATIALA: Local authorities introduced an 11-hour curfew in Punjab’s Patiala district on Friday after 4 folks had been injured when two teams clashed over an “anti-Khalistan march”.

The curfew shall be enforced between 7 pm Friday and 6 am Saturday, in line with an order issued by Patiala district Justice of the Peace Sakshi Sawhney.

The measure is being taken for the upkeep of peace and regulation and order, it mentioned.

However, all emergency and important companies shall stay exempted from the order, it added.

Tension prevailed within the metropolis after the conflict outdoors the Kali Mata temple between members of an outfit referred to as Shiv Sena (Bal Thackeray) on one aspect and a gaggle of Sikh activists, together with some Nihangs, on the others.
