Congress slams Uttarakhand BJP chief’s ‘sexist remark’, seeks motion

1 min read

The Congress on Tuesday accused Uttarakhand BJP president Bansidhar Bhagat of constructing sexist remarks and referred to as for disciplinary proceedings towards him after a video emerged wherein Bhagat purportedly referred to as Leader of Opposition Indira Hridayesh a “budhia” (outdated girl).
“Our Leader of Opposition is saying that several MLAs are in touch with her…arre budhia, tujhse kyun sampark karengey? (Why will they contact you, old woman),” Bhagat is purportedly heard saying within the video.
The Uttarakhand BJP chief couldn’t be reached for remark. However, the BJP’s state media in-charge Manveer Chauhan mentioned the video “could be tampered with”.
