‘Colour gray hair in pure shade,’ says Air India in its new grooming pointers for cabin crew

MUMBAI: Tata group-owned Air India has issued new pointers on grooming for its female and male cabin crew, together with barring them from sporting black and non secular thread on the wrist, neck and ankle.

Among others, the airline has instructed the crew that they need to not have gray hair and should be commonly colored in pure shade. 

“Religious rings with coloured stones and pearls, nose-pins and neck jewellery” together with thumb rings aren’t allowed. Black and non secular thread on wrist, neck and ankle are strictly not permitted,” as per the rules.

According to the airline, a bald look is allowed for the crew. 

“Crew with deep receding hairline and male balding patches must keep a clean shaved head/ bald look. Head must be shaved daily. Crew cut is not permitted,” it added.

Further, the airline mentioned that gray hair shouldn’t be permitted and should be commonly colored in a pure shade.

“Fashion colours and henna are not permitted”.

A question despatched to Air India looking for feedback on the brand new pointers remained unanswered.

Soon after taking up Air India in January this yr, Tata group suggested its cabin crew to put on minimal jewelry to keep away from flight delays.
