CBI arrests Power Grid exec director, Tata Projects govt VP amongst 6 in bribery case

NEW DELHI: The CBI has arrested Executive Director of Power Grid Corporation of India B S Jha and 5 officers of Tata Projects, together with its Executive VP Deshraj Pathak and Assistant VP R N Singh, in reference to alleged bribery to favour the non-public firm, officers stated on Thursday.

The probe company had carried out searches on Wednesday in Ghaziabad, Noida, Gurugram, amongst different locations, throughout which Rs 93 lakh money was recovered from the Gurugram premises of Jha.

Jha is at the moment posted in Itanagar, they stated.

It is alleged that Jha was extending favours to Tata Projects in varied tasks in return of illicit cost, they stated.

The CBI was keeping track of Jha throughout which it acquired an enter that he was receiving bribes from the executives of Tata Projects and different firms for granting favours for varied work, they stated.

The company groups swooped down on the location the place the alleged illicit funds have been to be made on Wednesday and arrested the accused, they stated.

All the six arrested accused can be produced earlier than Panchkula court docket on Thursday, they added.
