BJP pronounces candidates for UP & Bihar legislative council elections

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday introduced names of 6 candidates for the upcoming biennial polls in Uttar Pradesh and for 1 seat in Bihar Legislative Council.
While 12 seats within the UP Legislative Council are falling vacant owing to the retirement of members, by-election to 2 seats in Bihar’s Upper House was necessitated owing to the election of Sushil Kumar Modi and Vinod Narain Jha to the Rajya Sabha and state Assembly respectively.
In Uttar Pradesh, Kunwar Manvendra Singh, Govind Narayan Shukla, Salil Bishnoi, Ashwini Tyagi, Dharmveer Prajapati and Surendra Chaudhary are set to contest for the Legislative Council on BJP ticket.

In Bihar, former Union Minister Shahnawaz Hussain has been named as one of many BJP’s candidates for legislative council election in Bihar.

He misplaced the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Bhagalpur and was not given ticket in 2019 LS polls. Currently, he’s the celebration’s nationwide spokesperson and a member of the celebration’s Central Election Committee.
