Bengal minister defies CBI directions, leaves Kolkata for hometown in Cooch Behar

KOLKATA: Bengal minister of state for schooling Paresh Adhikari, who’s underneath CBI scanner over her daughter’s unlawful appointment in a government-aided college, on Tuesday left for his hometown in Cooch Behar within the northern a part of the state, regardless of being informed not to take action, an official of the company stated.

Adhikari took a flight from metropolis airport to Bagdogra round 7.30 am, he stated, including that an inquiry has been initiated into the matter.

“We had told the minister not to leave the city. We have come to know that he left for Bagdogra this morning. We will inquire into the matter,” the CBI official informed PTI.

The Mekliganj MLA has been questioned by CBI sleuths for 3 days since final Thursday in reference to the investigation into the appointment rip-off of instructing and non-teaching workers at state government-run and aided colleges.

The Calcutta High Court lately dismissed the employment of Adhikari’s daughter in a government-aided college and requested her to return the wage she had drawn throughout her tenure as a instructor.
