At least six members of household killed in a fireplace in UP’s Firozabad

FIROZABAD (UP): At least six members of a household had been killed and three injured on Tuesday after a fireplace broke out of their electronics-cum-furniture store on the bottom ground of the constructing they lived in, police stated.

Prima facie, it seems that a brief circuit led to the hearth, gutting not solely the store but additionally the house owners’ home on the primary ground, they stated.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the lack of lives and directed officers to supply a reduction of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of the deceased, the federal government stated.

Of the six lifeless, three had been kids, Senior Superintendent of Police Ashish Tiwari stated.

He stated 18 hearth brigade autos from Agra, Mainpuri, Etah and Firozabad, and personnel from 12 police stations had been concerned within the rescue operation, which lasted for nearly two-and-half hours.

“Since the area is congested, the rescuers had to put in extra efforts,” the SSP stated.

“We are still trying to ascertain that no one is trapped inside. The rescue operations are on,” he added.
