Assam govt introduces robe code for lecturers of state-run colleges

The Assam authorities on Saturday issued a notification bringing a robe code for lecturers in all state-run colleges throughout the state, saying that lecturers should placed on solely formal robe in colleges. A notification issued by the governor on behalf of the Department of School Education of the state authorities has requested every feminine and male lecturers to not placed on T-shirts, jeans, leggings and so forth in colleges.

According to the robe code, male lecturers should attend their duties in relevant formal attire solely, which suggests formal shirt-pant and by no means casual attire akin to T-shirt, jeans and so forth.

Similarly, “female teachers should attend their duties in decent Salwar Suit/Saree/Mekhela-Chador and not Casual Attire such as T-Shirt, Jeans, Leggings etc,” in accordance with the notification

Talking regarding the initiative, Assam Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu acknowledged that the Assam authorities goes to introduce a university rule book for all authorities colleges which might have broader points about how the school is to be managed, and the best way the programs are to be carried out.

“This school rule book contains that the teachers should be dressed decently, properly and they should wear formal dress. For the students we have uniforms. So, the teachers should wear formal dress and come to the school,” Dr Ranoj Pegu acknowledged.
