Assam: BJP-led NDA wins 12 of twenty-two seats in Deori autonomous council polls

GUWAHATI: The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Thursday bagged 12 of the 22 seats within the Deori autonomous council elections, an official assertion stated.
The saffron celebration received 11 seats whereas its ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) secured one, the assertion issued by the workplace of the secretary of the Assam State Election Commission (ASEC) stated.
Opposition Congress managed to win two seats, whereas Independent candidates emerged victorious in eight constituencies after the completion of counting in the course of the day, it stated.
An estimated 80 per cent of the 43,595 voters had exercised their franchise in the course of the polling on Tuesday.
The 22 constituencies are unfold throughout six districts and 4 sub-divisions of different districts.
Reacting to the ballot outcomes, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted: “The resounding victory of @BJP4Assam & allies in Deori Autonomous Council election revalidates popular trust in our Govt guided by vision of Adarniya PM Shri @narendramodi ji.”
