As temperatures rise, PM Narendra Modi asks states for fireplace audits of hospitals

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday requested states to undertake security audits, particularly of hospitals, citing rising instances of fireplace incidents amid searing warmth in lots of components of the nation.

In a gathering with chief ministers over the COVID-19 scenario, the prime minister mentioned there was an increase in fireplace incidents in forests and vital buildings, together with hospitals, as he noticed that the mercury ranges are rising above regular.

Many fireplace tragedies involving hospitals had occurred final 12 months claiming many harmless lives.

It was a troublesome time as many heart-rending tragedies occurred, Modi mentioned.

Urging chief ministers to take sufficient fireplace security measures, he mentioned, “They should carry out fire audits, especially of hospitals, and monitor the exercise to minimise such incidents and the loss of innocent lives.”
