Accused who urinated on Air India lady flyer ‘begged to not file criticism as he has a household’: FIR

NEW DELHI: The man who allegedly urinated on a feminine co-passenger on an Air India flight in November had apologised to the sufferer and begged her to not lodge a criticism, saying he didn’t want his spouse and youngster to be affected by the incident.

Delhi Police on Wednesday registered an FIR towards the accused primarily based on the sufferer’s criticism to Air India.

I asked the staff for a change of seat but was told that no other seats were available. However, another business class passenger who had witnessed my plight and was advocating for me pointed out that there were seats available in first class,” the sufferer was quoted as saying within the FIR.

After standing for 20 minutes, the sufferer was provided a small seat utilized by airline employees the place she sat for about two hours. She was then requested to return to her personal seat. When she refused, the sufferer was provided the steward’s seat for the remainder of the journey, the FIR acknowledged.

Later, the flight employees knowledgeable the sufferer that the offender needed to apologise to her. In response, she stated that she didn’t want to work together with him or see his face and needed him to be arrested on arrival.

“However, the crew brought the offender before me against my wishes and we were made to sit opposite each other in the crew seats. I was stunned when he started crying and profusely apologising to me, begging me not to lodge a complaint against him because he is a family man and did not want his wife and child to be affected by this incident. In my already distraught state, I was further disoriented by being made to confront and negotiate with the perpetrator of the horrific incident in close quarters,” the FIR acknowledged.

A lookout round has been issued towards the accused to forestall him from fleeing the nation, the police stated, including that efforts had been being taken to nab him.
