3 LeT militants killed in gunfight in Anantnag: police

Three militants had been killed in a gunfight in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday, police stated.
A joint crew of J&Ok Police, Army and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a cordon and search operation at Kawarigam village in Anantnag after particular inputs concerning the presence of militants within the village, they stated. As the joint crew was zeroing in on the goal, the militants opened fireplace. The forces returned the fireplace, resulting in a gunfight.
The police stated the trapped militants had been requested to give up however they refused. “They (militants) fired indiscriminately upon the joint search party which was retaliated, leading to an encounter,” the police stated. “In the ensuing encounter, three terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT were killed and their bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter.”

The police recognized the militants as Arif Hajam, a resident of Sadoora, Basit Rashid Ganai of Audsoo Achabal, and Suhail Mushtaq Bhat of Karimabad Pulwama.
Police stated that Arif was the district commander of Lashkar and was energetic for shut to a few years now, and that Basit joined the militant ranks in April this 12 months.
