2021 gang rape of 17-year-old in Uttar Pradesh’s Lalitpur: Gangsters Act in opposition to 22 of 28 accused

LALITPUR: The police have slapped the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act in opposition to 22 out of 28 accused within the final 12 months’s gang-rape case of a 17-year-old lady in Lalitpur.

The gang rape passed off in October final 12 months.

On the premise of the grievance lodged by the survivor, 28 folks have been made accused within the case.

The accused additionally embody her father and uncle.

Station House Officer (SHO) of Kotwali police station Vinod Mishra stated, “The Gangsters Act has been imposed against 22 accused in the case including the main accused Tilak Yadav, Deepak Ahirwar, the father and uncle of the victim along with other accused. The action was taken on the direction of Superintendent of Police Nikhil Pathak.”

Yadav is a former state president of the Samajwadi Party (SP) whereas Ahirwar is a former state president of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

The duo have been arrested quickly after the incident and have been lodged in jail.

The two, in keeping with police sources, got here out of jail in April on bail.

According to the lady’s grievance, she was raped for 5 years in several elements of the town.
