12 pilgrims from Agra killed as truck plummets into gorge

At least 12 individuals have been killed and 40 have been injured in Etawah district’s Barhpura space on Saturday night after their truck misplaced management and fell right into a gorge.
The truck was carrying 52 devotees, all associated to one another, from Agra district’s Pinahat space to the Lakhna temple in Etawah for a ritual.
Officials stated these severely injured had been referred to a hospital in Saifai district. “While 11 people were brought dead to the hospital, one died during treatment,” stated Barhpura Station House Officer (SHO) Somendra Singh. Of those that died, 11 have been males and one was a lady.

Etawah SSP Brijesh Kumar supervised the rescue operation. He stated the truck veered uncontrolled on the Chakarnagar street and fell into the gorge. According to the SHO, the truck driver fled after the accident.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath introduced Rs 2-lakh ex gratia cost for the households of the deceased.
