108 ladies Army officers to be promoted to the rank of colonel

The Indian Army introduced that it’s conducting ladies officers Special Selection Board for the promotion from the rank of Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel, ANI reported on Thursday, January 19. For the primary time, ladies officers will be capable to command items of their respective arms and providers. The SSB started on January 9 and can run until January 22.

According to a press launch from the Ministry of Defence, 244 feminine officers are being thought of for promotion for 108 vacancies and practically 80 officers have reportedly been cleared.

The promotion bid is contemplating ladies officers from the 1992-2006 batch towards 108 vacancies. Engineers Corps, Intelligence Corps, Army Service Corps, Signals, Army Air Defence, Army Ordnance Corps, and Electrical & Mechanical Engineers are among the many ladies officers into consideration for promotion within the Indian Army (EME).

Permanent Commission in Army for girls – A decades-old battle
