Vaani Kapoor: ‘My character in Shamshera has a lot of substance and charisma’

Actor Vaani Kapoor says she is elated to play the feminine lead in Ranbir Kapoor-starrer action-adventure Shamshera, because the movie has given her the chance to play a well-defined and charismatic character.
Directed by Karan Malhotra, the Yash Raj Films challenge is reportedly set within the 1800s and chronicles the story of a dacoit tribe combating for his or her proper and independence from the British.

Vaani, 32, stated the plot of Shamshera reminded her of Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit-Nene’s 1993 blockbuster film Khalnayak.
“We have grown up watching films like Khalanayak and a few others. It (Shamshera) gave me a sense of that. It is a cool film and it is so different,” the actor advised PTI.

The 32-year-old actor, who starred reverse Hrithik Roshan in 2019’s motion drama War, stated she is extra inclined in the direction of the style each as an actor and viewers.
“I love Karan Malhotra’s Agneepath. He knows how much to push each emotion. To be part of a film which is like that and coming from a filmmaker like Karan was icing on the cake,” she added.

Shamshera, which was introduced in May 2018, options Ranbir, 38, in a never-seen-before avatar. Vaani stated her co-actor will shock the viewers together with his efficiency within the movie.
“The setting of the film is very different. Ranbir has a different look and character in the film. He has pulled it off and how. He will surprise you with this film,” she stated.

“This girl has a cool evolution. The way Karan has mounted her is different. There is a lot of substance and charisma about her. It is a dream character,” she stated.
