Prominent Bollywood celebrities, together with actors Taapsee Pannu, Richa Chadha, and filmmaker Onir on Wednesday hailed journalist Priya Ramani’s acquittal in MJ Akbar’s felony defamation case over allegations of sexual harassment. Ramani had made an allegation of sexual misconduct towards Akbar within the wake of #MeToo motion in 2018. In response, Akbar had filed the grievance towards Ramani for allegedly defaming him by accusing him of sexual misconduct a long time in the past.
