Spike Lee to provide fantasy movie for Netflix

Academy Award-winner Spike Lee is about to provide director Stefon Bristol’s Gordon Hemingway & the Realm of Cthulhu for Netflix. 

Based on an authentic screenplay by Hank Woon, the movie is Bristol’s second venture with Netflix after See You Yesterday, which was additionally produced by Lee. 

Set in East Africa in 1928, the story follows the titular character, a roguish Black American gunslinger as he groups up with the elite warrior Princess Zenebe of Ethiopia to rescue their kidnapped regent from an historic evil.

Lee will produce the movie with Lloyd Levin and Beatriz Levin, each of whom labored with the filmmaker on his Netflix characteristic Da 5 Bloods.  Oliver Oftedal and Tom Olsson for Goodbye Kansas’ manufacturing arm Infinite Entertainment will function co-producers.
