Actor Shreyas Talpade says taking part in Indian cricketer Pravin Tambe in his upcoming biopic was difficult as he needed to seize the sportsman’s “stamina, flexibility and cricketing craft” precisely.

Titled Kaun Pravin Tambe?, the upcoming movie goals to supply the viewers an perception into the life and keenness of the leg spinner who began taking part in for the IPL crew Rajasthan Royals on the age of 41.

Though Talpade isn’t new to films based mostly on cricket, he performed a quick bowler within the 2005 sports activities drama Iqbal, the actor informed PTI that his newest mission was bodily difficult.

“The cricketing bits in the film were tough. When I did Iqbal, I was 30, which also isn’t young as per the cricketing age because people start early. Pravin started with medium pace bowling and at a particular time in his career, he switched to spin and he was a batsman as well. So, to get all of that, stamina, flexibility, his cricketing craft was tough,” he mentioned.

Shreyas Talpade performs the titular position within the movie, which showcases the cricketer’s journey from the age of 20 until 42.

The actor mentioned he practiced cricket with Pravin Tambe for almost three months to get his mannerism and elegance.

“It was positively difficult. I’d have most likely needed myself to be not less than 40 and never 47 to play that half. But as an actor, we’ve to problem ourselves.

“There were times when I used to complain of pain, back aches. When your body gets tired like that, recovery becomes an issue but then you think of what that man has achieved over 20 years and you just have to work for 50 days. It was tough but Pravin’s spirit kept me going,” he added.

Directed by Jayprad Desai, Kaun Pravin Tambe? will launch on Disney Plus Hotstar on April 1.

Shreyas Talpade mentioned he had a sequence of conferences with the Mumbai-based cricketer to grasp “him and his spirit”.

“The movie is concerning the spirit of the man who by no means gave up. The thought was to observe and seize his spirit. I needed to grasp his thoughts and know what stored him going. I realised it was his honest, unflinching ardour in the direction of cricket.

“When you meet him, you realise that he eats, thinks, breathes cricket. All he wants to do is just play cricket, even at 50. If you ask him anything, he will reply in monosyllabic. If you talk about cricket, he can go on for hours!” he added.

Kaun Pravin Tambe? is backed by Fox Star Studios together with Friday Filmworks and Bootroom Sports Production. It shall be launched in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
