1 min readLegendary singer S P Balasubrahmanyam was posthumously honoured with the Padma Vibhushan at a ceremony within the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday. Balasubrahmanyam’s son SP Charan obtained the award on his father’s behalf from President Ram Nath Kovind.
The official Rashtrapati Bhavan Twitter deal with shared a photograph and wrote, “President Kovind presents Padma Vibhushan to Shri S.P. Balasubrahmanyam (Posthumous) for Art. One of the main figures of Indian cinema, notably the southern Indian film trade, he was a top-notch playback singer in a number of languages.

Balasubrahmanyam, popularly referred to as SPB, handed away in September 2020 after COVID-19 issues on the age of 74. His profession had spanned 5 a long time within the movie trade and had gained six National Film Awards for his works in 4 completely different languages, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi. He is thought to be probably the most revered singing legends of India.
