Paramount delays launch of ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’, subsequent ‘Star Trek’ film

LOS ANGELES: Paramount has determined to delay two of its much-awaited movies — “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” and the brand new instalment of “Star Trek”. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts”, which was slated for June 24, 2022, will now launch on June 9, 2023.

To be directed by Steven Caple Jr of “Creed II” fame, the movie will function the seventh chapter within the blockbuster franchise. Set in Brooklyn, New York within the Nineties, the brand new film will deliver again the acquainted lead hero Optimus Prime, serving as a form of origin story for the character as he arrives on Earth for the primary time and learns to turn out to be a frontrunner.

The movie will draw from the “Beast Wars” animated collection which targeted on robots who rework themselves into animals versus automobiles. “In The Heights” star Anthony Ramos and “Judas and the Black Messiah” actor Dominique Fishback will play the lead roles within the film.

Meanwhile, the brand new “Star Trek” film has been pushed to December 22, 2023, from its earlier launch date of June 9, 2023. Matt Shakman, who not too long ago directed “WandaVision” collection, will helm the movie for Paramount.

Filmmaker JJ Abrams, who directed “Star Trek”, the 2009 function reboot of the cult sci-fi TV collection, is hooked up to provide the brand new mission. Lindsey Beer, who has penned the upcoming “The Kingkiller Chronicle”, and Geneva Robertson-Dworet of “Captain Marvel” fame are on board because the screenwriters.
