Nagraj Manjule says movie on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj pushed as a result of pandemic

Filmmaker Nagraj Manjule says his bold multilingual trilogy on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is going through delays as a result of pandemic and has not been placed on the again burner.

In 2019, Manjule and actor-producer Riteish Deshmukh had introduced the pan-India movie trilogy.

The film was alleged to be backed by Deshmukh’s manufacturing banner – Mumbai Film Company and was set to launch in 2021.

“Our schedule got haywire because of the pandemic. We lost two years because of that so naturally we could not take it on floors. But it isn’t that the movie is shelved. It is a project I am extremely passionate about and once everything falls into place, you will know,” Majule instructed PTI.

The commerce had billed the mission because the filmmaker’s largest manufacturing, after Marathi movies like Fandry, Sairat and his latest Hindi debut, Jhund.

Nagraj Manjule mentioned the movie on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will probably be difficult to drag off.

“It is a historic. But on the finish of the day, we’re making a movie so the foundations of moviemaking gained’t change, solely the topic will. Of course, it’ll include its personal challenges due to the character of the movie.

“Even when I was a kid, I would think how brilliant a film on Shivaji Maharaj would be. I had seen a couple of films on him and wanted to make one myself, so this is a dream project,” he added.

Manjule’s newest Jhund, that includes megastar Amitabh Bachchan as a Nagpur-based retired sports activities trainer who pioneered a slum soccer motion, is at the moment taking part in in cinemas.
