WASHINGTON: American filmmaker James Gunn has shared a clarification concerning the destiny of HBO Max’s ‘Green Lantern’ sequence which has been in improvement for years now.

According to Deadline, a USA-based leisure information outlet, after a publication mentioned that the present had been cancelled and would not proceed, the brand new co-head of DC Studios refuted the story and labelled it “false”.

Greg Berlanti, the producer of ‘Arrow’, has been engaged on the Green Lantern sequence since 2019. It was reported that the present’s focus had modified in October of this 12 months.

Guy Gardner and Alan Scott would have been the sequence’ principal characters, and Finn Wittrock and Jeremy Irvine would have performed these elements, respectively. However, the refocus can be on John Stewart, one among DC’s first Black superheroes and one of many longest-serving Green Lanterns, reported Deadline.

Back in 2019, together with ‘Strange Adventures’, ‘Green Lantern’ was confirmed to be in improvement. The DC properties will probably be made only for the streaming service, in accordance with Berlanti, and can be “unlike anything seen on television.”

At the time, Berlanti mentioned, “An anthology series of cautionary tales set in a world where superpowers exist, and, in what promises to be our biggest DC show ever made, we will be going to space with a Green Lantern television series, but I can’t reveal any more about that just yet.”

It was revealed in August that ‘Stranger Adventures’ wouldn’t be transferring ahead on the streamer.

HBO Max and DC have undergone quite a few adjustments in 2022 because the Warner Bros. Discovery merger proceeds and the brand new co-presidents of DC Studios, Gunn and Peter Safran, lay forth a brand new period for the DC Universe, as per Deadline.
