Darasingh Khurana Commonwealth Year of Youth Champion: After winning the title of Mister India International 2017, Darasingh Khurana has made a name for himself as a successful model in showbiz, working with top brands and designers. In 2023, he made his acting debut in the Punjabi film Bai Ji Kuttange opposite Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu. She recently made her South debut with the Malayalam film Bandra and is now all set to make her Hindi film debut with Kaagaz 2.
Darasingh was officially appointed by the Commonwealth Secretary General, The Rt Honorable Patricia Scotland Casey. Talking about the artiste’s work, the dignitary wrote in his appointment letter, “With your extraordinary commitment to youth development and empowerment, the Commonwealth is confident that your voice will resonate with youth across borders and drive positive change.” Will inspire. This honor was a surprise for Darasingh also. He said, “After my meeting with the Secretary General Rt Hon Patricia Scotland, I thought I was being considered for appointment as an Ambassador to the Commonwealth India, but I did not know that out of all 56 member states I will be chosen as “Youth Champion of the Year”. But now that he has been appointed, he is very excited to play this role.”

Under this new title, Darasingh will play an important role as a high-profile spokesperson, lawyer and influencer. He will help guide and inspire meaningful action to promote youth development and empowerment across the Commonwealth. Commonwealth members will collaborate closely with key stakeholders, participate in key events and contribute to policy discussions that shape the future of youth in individual countries. Darasingh is most eager to work with the General Secretary. He says, “The most important driving force behind this association is the vision of the Secretary General, Rt Hon Patricia Scotland. I recently had the pleasure of sharing the stage with him at an event, after which we spent 2 days sharing ideas, experiences and vision boards.
Brand Ambassador of DATRI brand
Darasingh is the brand ambassador of DATRI, the world’s second largest blood stem cell donor registry. He also founded the Pause.Breathe.Talk Foundation to provide affordable mental health services to people. The actor also serves as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and now, he has acquired another title. Even after doing so much work, Darasingh does not feel overwhelmed or nervous. “I am absolutely delighted and it is a privilege to add my duties as Commonwealth Youth Champion to my existing programme,” he insists.
