Chinmayi Sripada on ‘Tere Bina’ being a part of Ms Marvel tracklist: ‘Nice to see my name’

Singer Chinmayi Sripada says she is comfortable to see her identify within the tracklist credit of Ms Marvel, the Disney Plus Hotstar sequence that featured her track “Tere Bina”.

A remix model of “Tere Bina”, a track from the 2007 Mani Ratnam movie Guru, was utilized by the makers of the Iman Vellani-fronted present in its third episode which premiered on the streamer on Wednesday.

“Tere Bina in Ms Marvel Ep 3. Kinda nice to see my name on a tracklist of a Marvel show,” the Chennai-based singer captioned an image of the credit on Twitter.

“Tere Bina” was penned by Gulzar and composed by A R Rahman, who sang the monitor together with Sripada.

Other Hindi film songs that featured in episode three of Ms Marvel are: “Joote De Do Paise Le Lo” from Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, “Hadippa” from Dil Bole Hadipaa, and “Yeh Mera Dil…” from Don.

Also a part of the 12-part soundtrack are singer-songwriter Ritviz’s “Thandi Hawa” and “For Aisha”, a collaboration of worldwide musical group MEMBA that includes Amercan musician EVAN GIIA and Sufi singing duo Nooran Sisters.

This isn’t the primary time the makers have floated Bollywood references into the present.

The earlier two episodes talked about Bollywood celebrity Shah Rukh Khan and his movies Baazigar and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge alongside Pakistani singer-songwriter Hasan Raheem’s track “Peechay Hutt”.

Ms Marvel introduces Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), a Muslim American teenager rising up in Jersey City. The official synopsis of the Marvel present reads, “An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega-fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel.
