LOS ANGELES; Filmmaker Brett Morgen is engaged on a movie on music icon David Bowie, based mostly on hundreds of hours of uncommon efficiency footage of the singer-songwriter.
According to Variety, Morgen has been engaged on the yet-untitled venture for the final 4 years.
A supply near the manufacturing describes it as “neither documentary nor biography, but an immersive cinematic experience built, in part, upon thousands of hours of never-seen-before material.”
Morgen, recognized for steering “Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck”, “Jane” and “The Kid Stays in the Picture”, is eyeing a Sundance Film Festival premiere in late January.
The director acquired the rights to the fabric himself and also will be producing the film underneath his banner Public Road.
Bowie’s long-time producer Tony Visconti is on board the movie as music producer.
BMG and Live Nation are hooked up as financiers and producers.
