LOS ANGELES: Actor-filmmaker Ben Stiller is about to direct the film adaptation of Rachel Maddow’s hit 2018 podcast “Bag Man”.

According to Deadline, Focus Features is growing the challenge.

Stiller can also be co-writing the script with Adam Perlman and Mike Yarvitz, who produced the unique podcast.

Based on probably the most brazen political bribery scandals in American History, ‘Bag Man’ focuses on the 1973 political scandal surrounding Richard Nixon’s vice chairman Spiro Agnew, who quietly ran a bribery and extortion ring whereas no person was paying consideration.

The unbelievable story asks: Is it doable for an American Vice President to hold out a prison enterprise contained in the White House and have no person keep in mind? A e book on the podcast, titled “Bag Man: The Wild Crimes, Audacious Cover-up, and Spectacular Downfall of a Brazen Crook within the White House,” was revealed in December 2020.

It was co-penned by Maddow and Yarvitz.

Maddow is on board as government producer on the movie with Nicky Weinstock, Michael Price, Erin David and Andrew Singer.

Stiller is producing the challenge with Lorne Michaels, Yarvitz and Josh McLaughlin.
