‘Bad Boys for Life’ administrators Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah to helm ‘Batgirl’ film for Warner Bros

LOS ANGELES: Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who helmed Will Smith and Martin Lawrence-starrer “Bad Boys for Life”, are set to direct the “Batgirl” film for Warner Bros. The DC characteristic will revolve round Barbra Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon.

Christina Hodson, who wrote “Bumblebee” and Warner Bros’ “Birds of Prey” and “The Flash”, has penned the script for what’s being deliberate as a film for HBO Max, in response to the Hollywood Reporter.

Barbra Gordon is essentially the most established model of the Batgirl character, who was initially launched in 1961 as Betty Kane. But the character, performed by Yuonne Craig, was revamped in 1967 when tv executives needed to draw a feminine viewers to the Batman TV collection, THR mentioned.

Batgirl’s final live-action big-screen look was with Alicia Silverstone in Joel Schumacher’s 1997 film “Batman & Robin”. El Arbi and Fallah had been born in Morocco and studied movie in Belgium. They gained consideration for steering the most recent installment within the “Bad Boys” franchise.

Studios are more and more tapping into telling tales of feminine superheroes following the success of “Wonder Woman” and “Captain Marvel”.
