Amazon reveals title of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ collection

LOS ANGELES: “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” is the official title of the much-anticipated “The Lord of the Rings” collection, streaming platform Amazon Prime Video has introduced.

Based on JRR Tolkien’s fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s historical past when the rings have been solid by Sauron, the epic drama will premiere on September 2, with new episodes dropping weekly.

Amazon did the title reveal in a brand new video that was shared throughout the streamer’s social media platforms on Wednesday.

“The Lord of the Rings” collection is led by showrunners and govt producers JD Payne and Patrick McKay, reported Variety.

Payne and McKay mentioned the title of the collection is the one which they think about might dwell on the backbone of a e-book subsequent to Tolkien’s different classics.

“‘The Rings of Power’ unites all the most important tales of Middle-earth’s Second Age: the forging of the rings, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the epic story of Numenor, and the Last Alliance of Elves and Men.

Amazon has already ordered a second season.

The collection shall be produced by Amazon Studios in cooperation with the Tolkien Estate and Trust, HarperCollins, and New Line Cinema, a division of Warner Bros Entertainment.
