Rajasthan govt hikes Dearness Allowance to twenty-eight% efficient 1 July

After Centre’s resolution, the Rajasthan authorities on Wednesday has determined to extend dearness allowance of state authorities workers and pensioners from 17% to twenty-eight%, relevant from July 1, 2021, stated Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

The announcement comes simply hours after the Union Cabinet elevated the speed of Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) after a spot of one-and-half years from 17 per cent to twenty-eight per cent, benefiting practically 1.14 crore workers and pensioners.

The new charges of DA and DR, which can impose an annual burden of ₹34,401 crore on the exchequer, will come into impact from July 2021, stated Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur whereas briefing reporters in regards to the assembly of the Union Cabinet. The resolution on the DA and DR was taken on the Union Cabinet assembly chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Union Government had frozen the three extra instalments of the DA and DR which had been due from January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020 and January 1, 2021. There will probably be no fee of arrears this time, as the speed of DA/DR for the interval from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 shall stay at 17 per cent of primary pay/pension. The enhanced price of DA and DR will probably be paid from July 2021. “Cabinet approves restoring of three instalments of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief with effect from 01.07.2021 representing an increase of 11% over the existing rate of 17% of the Basic Pay/Pension. No arrears for the period from 01.01.2020 till 30.06.2021 shall be paid,” stated an official tweet.
