Maruti Suzuki stories sale of 1,67,014 items in March

The nation’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Thursday reported whole gross sales of 1,67,014 items in March. The firm had offered 83,792 items in March final yr amid nationwide lockdown because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Its home gross sales stood at 1,49,518 items final month. The auto main had reported gross sales of 76,976 items in March 2020.
Both dispatches and manufacturing had been hit final yr because of the Covid pandemic.
“Domestic sales in March 2020 had dropped about 48 per cent due to COVID related disruptions. It will be seen that domestic sales in March 2021 have only recovered to March 2019 levels,” MSI mentioned in an announcement.
Sales of mini automobiles, comprising Alto and S-Presso, stood at 24,653 items final month. The firm had offered 15,988 items in March 2020.
Similarly, gross sales of compact section autos, together with fashions Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire, stood at 82,201 items final month. The firm had reported dispatches of 40,519 automobiles in March final yr.

Sales of the mid-sized sedan Ciaz stood at 1,628 items final month. The mannequin wholesales had stood at 1,863 items in March 2020.
Utility car gross sales, together with Vitara Brezza, S-Cross and Ertiga, stood at 26,174 items final month. The firm had offered 11,904 items within the year-ago month, MSI mentioned. Exports in March had been at 11,597 items. It stood at 4,712 items within the corresponding month final yr, it added.
For the fiscal yr 2020-21, the auto main reported whole gross sales of 14,57,861 items, down 6.7 per cent from 15,63,297 items in 2019-20.
The home gross sales within the 2019-20 monetary yr had fallen by 18 per cent on account of causes which are well-known, and within the 2020-21 fiscal the disapatches have been impacted on account of COVID associated elements, MSI famous.
The firm mentioned its whole home gross sales dropped to 13,23,396 items in 2020-21, from 14,36,124 in 2019-20.
