The charges have been hiked by Rs 25.50 per cylinder on July 1. Non-subsidised LPG charges too have been hiked on August 1 by the identical proportion, with subsidised cooking fuel costs being raised now.
Subsidised LPG in Delhi now prices Rs 859 per 14.2-kg cylinder, in keeping with a value notification by oil corporations. There is hardly any distinction within the charge of subsidised and non-subsidised cooking fuel.
Industry sources mentioned the subsidised LPG value was not raised on August 1 as a result of Parliament was in session and the federal government might have been attacked by the opposition. Monday’s hike in subsidised LPG value has taken the whole charge hike since January 1 to Rs 165 a cylinder. The value of home cooking fuel has greater than doubled in final seven years.
