Joint House panel on information Bill will get one other extension for report

The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on Personal Data Protection Bill was given one other extension on Friday, until the primary week of the Winter Session of Parliament, 2021, to submit its ultimate report. This is the second extension granted to the committee this 12 months. Earlier in March, the JPC was given time until the Monsoon session to submit its report.
The JPC, which is able to now be headed by P P Chaudhary, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Member of Parliament from Pali constituency, will subsequent meet on July 27 to listen to the views of the stakeholders in reference to the examination of the topic ‘Review of functioning of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC)’ within the context of ‘Draft Cinematograph (Amendment) Bill, 2021’.
