In June, the central financial institution raised the interchange charge from ₹15 to ₹17, whereas for non-financial transactions the charge has been raised from ₹5 to ₹6.

Why had been costs for ATM money withdrawals hiked?

The central financial institution had stated these costs had been allowed to be hiked owing to the rising value of ATM deployment and bills in direction of the upkeep of ATM that banks incur.
