Air India to rent over 4200 cabin crew and 900 pilots within the yr 2023

Days after saying mega offers to buy 470 plane from Boeing and Airbus, Air India on Friday introduced that over 4,200 cabin crew trainees and 900 pilots might be employed within the yr 2023 to fulfill its rising manpower wants.

Earlier this month, Air India introduced two mega order to buy 220 plane from Boeing and 250 plane Airbus to help its development plans. The airline additionally has already introduced plans to lease 36 plane of which two B 777-200 LR have already joined the fleet. Therefore, the airline must develop its manpower considerably.

“The cabin crew, who will be recruited from around the country, will undergo a 15-week programme imparting safety and service skills, and will be coached to exemplify the best of Indian hospitality and Tata group culture. The training program will include extensive classroom and in-flight training at the airline’s training facility in Mumbai as well as familiarization flights,” the airline stated in an announcement.

Notably, between May 2022 and February 2023, Air India has employed over 1,900 cabin crew. Over 1,100 cabin crew have been skilled within the final seven months from July 2022 to January 2023, and prior to now three months, roughly 500 cabin crew have been launched for flying by the airline.

Currently Air India has round 1,600 pilots to function its 113 plane fleet. Its two subsidiaries Air India Express and AirAsia India have round 850 pilots for his or her 54 planes.
