President Volodymyr Zelensky has rejected Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invitation to meet in Moscow. In an interview, Zelensky said he cannot visit the capital of terrorists due to the persistent missile attacks targeting Ukraine. He has proposed that Putin travel to Kyiv for the meeting instead.
Zelensky believes that the offer of a Moscow meeting signals a lack of interest in peace talks from Russia. Former US President Donald Trump has been pushing for a direct meeting between Zelensky and Putin, and the two leaders met in Alaska last month to discuss the possibility of such a meeting.
