An Israeli airstrike in Sana’a, Yemen, led to the death of Ahmed al-Rahawi, the Prime Minister of the Houthi rebels, who are supported by Iran. The rebels confirmed the news on Saturday. According to their released statement, al-Rahawi was killed in a strike that happened on Thursday. Several ministers from his government were also killed. The Israeli military said on Thursday that it had launched a precise strike on a military site of the Houthi terrorist regime in the Sana’a region. Al-Rahawi had been serving as the Houthi-led government’s Prime Minister since August 2024.
The attack occurred while al-Rahawi and other government officials were in a meeting evaluating the past year’s performance and activities. The Houthis have frequently launched missiles at Israel to support the Palestinians during the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
