White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has cautioned that a prolonged government shutdown could lead to widespread layoffs of federal employees. She suggested this situation could escalate political tensions in Washington, and squarely placed the blame on Democrats, alleging they are using the situation for political advantage.
Leavitt stated that the nation is in the third day of the government shutdown, which she said was caused by Democrats. She claimed the Democrats are using their demand for free healthcare for illegal immigrants as leverage against the American people.
She stated that Republicans fully support passing a non-partisan clean funding bill. This is the same bill that Democrats previously approved in March to reopen the federal government. Leavitt noted that the same Senate Democrats are now voting against the bill and expressed hope that they will soon reconsider their position.
Leavitt highlighted the severe consequences the ongoing shutdown is having on millions of Americans. She said that 1.3 million members of the U.S. military, including all branches, who serve and protect the nation, are not receiving their pay. Military families are facing financial hardship, causing them to seek food assistance.
President Trump will bring an end to the reign of terror of the radical leftists in Portland. If Democrats do the right thing, the shutdown can be ended. Leavitt claimed that if the shutdown continues, job losses will be an unfortunate consequence. She pointed out that it was the Democrats who voted to shut down the government, placing the White House and the President in this situation.
The President is greatly concerned about the atrocities in the Middle East. It’s unfortunate that he inherited this disarray from the Biden administration. During his first term, the Middle East was moving towards peace and prosperity. The Abraham Accords were signed.
Israel was on its way to normalization with Arab and Gulf nations, and they hope it will continue. President Trump has told Hamas that they must accept a detailed proposal or face severe consequences. They have a deadline of Sunday at 6 p.m.
Leavitt said that the world needs to hear the President. Hamas has the chance to accept the plan and move toward peace. The consequences of failing to do so will be dire.
