Video exhibits writer Salman Rushdie being attacked on stage
1 min readAuthor Salman Rushdie was attacked and apparently stabbed Friday by a person who rushed onstage as Rushdie was about to ship a lecture in Western New York. Rushdie has repeatedly obtained dying threats from Iran since Nineteen Eighties for his writing.
Rushdie was taken by helicopter to a hospital, police mentioned, including that his situation is just not recognized but. Spectators have been ushered out of the outside amphitheater.

Rushdie’s novel, Satanic Verses, was banned in Iran, the place the late chief Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini issued a 1989 fatwa, or edict, calling for Rushdie’s dying.
