The ongoing tensions between the United States and Russia have escalated, with a covert war underway involving espionage. This involves Russia and China stealing and cloning American technology, thereby weakening the US. Russia has intensified its espionage efforts, previously dominated by China, by infiltrating the US military. A Russian spy, now apprehended, was gathering sensitive military information and providing it to Russia.
The weapons systems that the US uses to project power globally are now under threat. Similarly, the soldiers who facilitate US military operations have become a point of vulnerability. The Russian spy was not an external agent but was actively operating within the US military.
According to the US Department of Justice, sensitive information concerning American combat tanks was stolen and sent to Russia. This operation involved a US soldier, arrested on Wednesday. The soldier, Taylor Adam Lee, based at Fort Bliss, Texas, was attempting to transfer data on advanced US tanks to Russia. The data allegedly included technology related to the M1A2 Abrams tank, and additional data from an armored fighting vehicle was also found.
Though the spy was arrested before the full extent of the damage was known, reports suggest Russia may have already acquired critical information about the Abrams tank and may have cloned it. While the extent of this claim is uncertain, the available evidence points to ongoing espionage by Russia and China within the United States. This is further supported by the arrest of two Chinese nationals in California, accused of illegally exporting Nvidia AI chips, including H100 chips, to China. Although the charges were related to licensing violations, the claim is that China seeks to gain control of the global hardware market by cloning US technology.
