Long‑range Ukrainian attack hits Bashneft‑Novol and Slavneft‑Yanos, targeting Kremlin’s oil cash

On Thursday, Kyiv launched a deep‑strike mission that reached two major oil‑processing facilities deep inside Russian territory.

The first target was the Bashneft‑Novol refinery located in the Republic of Bashkortostan, while the second was the Slavneft‑Yanos complex in the Yaroslav area, each situated more than a thousand kilometres from the Ukrainian front.

According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, striking these sites directly attacks the financial lifeline that fuels Moscow’s war machine.

The operation also extended to the Black Sea, where Ukrainian units neutralised two Russian patrol vessels and several ships linked to the covert “shadow fleet,” reducing Russia’s maritime pressure on Ukraine.

Zelensky praised the troops for their precision and urged the Russian leadership to abandon hostilities in favour of a negotiated settlement.

He reiterated the need for additional air‑defence systems, highlighting ongoing discussions with Finland’s Alexander Stubb about possible Finnish contributions.
