Nature is unleashing its fury across the globe. Following the earthquake in Afghanistan, the African nation of Sudan is now confronting a devastating landslide. The Sudan Liberation Movement/Army reported that the landslide has led to the deaths of at least 1,000 people. The destruction is of an immense scale, with an entire village in the Marra mountainous region of western Sudan completely destroyed. This area is situated in the Darfur region, where only one child survived.
The situation in Sudan is critical. The group led by Abdelwahid Mohamed Nour attributed the landslide to heavy rainfall. The torrential downpour on August 31st triggered the landslide, which entirely consumed a village, burying it. The Darfur region is under the control of the movement/group. They have requested assistance from the United Nations and international aid organizations. The landslide has resulted in the tragic deaths of thousands, including men, women, and children.
