President Trump has announced that all U.S. flags are to be flown at half-staff until sunset on August 31, 2025, to pay tribute to the victims. This order applies to the White House, all public buildings, military bases, naval stations, and U.S. diplomatic missions worldwide. The President stated that he was fully informed about the tragic shooting and that the FBI was on the scene immediately. He also requested prayers for those affected. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey also extended condolences following the incident.
