“People are locked at home everyday and life is so hard. Prices in Lhasa now are so high and landlords are chasing people for rent. The workers also aren’t allowed to go back to their hometown. They have no other way out,” one Lhasa resident was quoted by the BBC as saying.

“I have been in lockdown for more than 80 days. People were allowed to roam inside the compound for several hours a day – but couldn’t go beyond that,” the resident mentioned.
