By India Today Web Desk: A Hindu temple in Texas, United States was raided by burglars who stole among the valuables, KBTX-TV reported on Friday. The incident has left the Indian group within the US shocked.

The incident occurred at Shri Omkarnath Temple within the Brazos Valley, PTI reported. This is the one Hindu temple within the Brazos Valley, a spot for native Hindus to worship, and discover peace and group.

According to a board member for the Brazos Valley Shri Omkarnath Temple, Srinivasa Sunkari, “There was a sense of invasion, that sense of loss of privacy when something like this happened to u.”

He additional added that “There was a break-in. They broke in through the side window and what was immediately apparent was missing is our donation box and a safe in which we keep our valuables,”

“The priest and his family who live in an apartment right behind the temple are safe,” he mentioned.

A video captured by safety cameras contained in the temple exhibits an individual ignoring the shrine and going straight to the donation field. The suspect then used the temple’s cart to wheel it out the door.

Sunkari mentioned that he has knowledgeable the group members at a gathering on Sunday.

“We will rebound, we will take extra precautions to make sure our priest is safe and this family is safe and our place of worship is safe. And we hope that something like this doesn’t happen to anybody in the future,” Sunkari mentioned.

The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office mentioned they’re investigating the housebreaking.
