Actress Manisha Koirala shared her views on Nepal’s political situation in a recent podcast, arguing that the constitution should have included the monarchy. She also acknowledged that the constitution has not successfully delivered justice to the people. Koirala’s family has a strong political background; her father, Prakash Koirala, was a Nepali minister, and her grandfather, BP Koirala, served as Nepal’s first prime minister.
Koirala reflected on the instability of Nepali governments, expressing a long-held critical perspective. She stated that she has understood politics since her childhood, recalling her father’s lessons on politics as a service to the people, a vision for the public good. She added that issues arise when this vision diverges from reality.
