A tragic incident occurred when an MI-17 helicopter, participating in flood rescue and relief efforts in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, crashed, claiming the lives of five individuals. The crash took place in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which has been severely affected by the heavy monsoon rains and ensuing floods. The helicopter was involved in providing aid when it crashed in the Pandiali area of the Mohmand district. The accident was caused by poor weather conditions. The aircraft was carrying relief aid to the affected areas of Bajaur. The five crew members, including two pilots, lost their lives in the crash. Authorities are working to ascertain the exact cause of the crash, considering both weather and other possible factors. A rescue team has been dispatched to the crash location. Landslides and flash floods have devastated northern Pakistan due to heavy monsoon rains.
