A severe water shortage has hit Karachi following a power disruption at the Dhabeji Pumping Station, affecting numerous areas. The power outage has impacted the pumping station, leading to significant reductions in the water supply across the city. Karachi faces a shortfall of over 350 million gallons per day, far below the required amount, which adds to the existing water supply deficit. The K-III Pumping House, which is part of the larger pumping station, remains offline due to the electrical failure. K-Electric is working to resolve the issue; however, the presence of accumulated rainwater is delaying repairs. Furthermore, a separate breakdown at the Damloti Pumping Station has worsened the water crisis for residents.
