The 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran saw Israel successfully strike within Iran, eliminating high-ranking officials. This has brought significant recognition to Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, for its intelligence operations within Iran.
Iranian police revealed that they detained approximately 21,000 individuals suspected of espionage during the conflict with Israel. These detentions were prompted by public reports. The judiciary, however, cited a lower figure of approximately 2,000 arrests.
Police spokesperson Saeed Montezerolmahdi explained that the arrests followed 7,850 reports to the national emergency line 110. He added that the public calls saw a 41% increase during the 12-day war, and these calls led to the arrest of 21,000 suspects, demonstrating the significant role the public played in maintaining security.
