The Indian government is responding to the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel by prioritizing the safety of its citizens in the region. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has confirmed that the Indian Embassy in Tehran is actively managing the security situation and has begun relocating Indian students to safer areas within Iran. This action is a response to the ongoing conflict, which has seen strikes continuing for three days.
The MEA is also considering further safety measures and coordinating with community leaders to support Indian nationals. The MEA stated, “The Indian Embassy in Tehran is continuously monitoring the security situation and engaging Indian students in Iran to ensure their safety. In some cases, students are being relocated with the Embassy’s facilitation to safer places within Iran. Other feasible options are also under examination. Separately, the Embassy is in touch with community leaders regarding welfare and safety.”
Furthermore, the Indian Embassy in Israel has issued an advisory to the Indian community, advising them to remain vigilant, avoid non-essential travel, and follow safety guidelines provided by Israeli authorities. The embassy is working closely with the community and Israeli officials to monitor the situation and provide assistance.
